Christmas

We are off to our Christmas pageant. Mikayla thinks she is the star of the show, Mary. (Hopefully she doesn't break into a solo song) Josh, well, he thinks he is going to be one of the animals in the Barnyard movie. Merry Christmas to All!

When I asked my son to give me a kiss this morning, he put out his hand to shake and said "Hi, I'm Joshie". So formal!

After a fun-filled weekend of all types of activities, including a Nutcracker tea and a Barbie symphony, Mikayla gave a wonderful impression of what she did this weekend in school: I had a good weekend, I scrubbed the garage floors.

I took the kids out tonight and Mikayla told me it was a girl's night out. When I asked her what to do with Josh, she said we could call him Hannah.

Three public service announcements from my daughter: "The snow is SO romantic!" "Don't play with the yellow snow because you know what has happened there" "The snow gives you a funny feeling when you let it land on your tongue"

Mikayla told me, in a very proud way, that she is a Prima Donna.

Woke up to my little boy trying to eat my hair. I guess it's time to feed him breakfast.

Daisies?

M had her first Daffodil Scout meeting tonight and can't stop talking about the fun she had. (yes, it's actually Daisy Scouts, but she said she likes Daffodils better so that's what she is going to call it)

Halloween

Coming home from the bus stop today, Josh wanted to stop at all the neighbors' houses. Why? To get candy, of course-it worked last week so why not try again?

Chef?

The 2 year old woke up this morning and wanted eggs. He did a pretty good job and broke half of them in the pan without any shells. Unfortunately the rest was all over the floor. I hope he waits until I'm out of bed next time.

Halloween

No, mom, I just didn't sneak out to the garage and loot the Halloween candy.

I find it interesting that the 5 year old wants me to wait on her all the time (get me this, get me that) while the 2 year old wants to help himself (open the fridge, climb up in the cabinets to get dishes, pour juice, etc) When I asked Mikayla why, she said she was the queen, I was supposed to help her out.

I had a wonderful morning planting hundreds of bulbs with my work crew. The foreman ( or 8man as she liked to be called) told me where to plant everything. The inspector tried to taste test everything. They weren't the most productive but were a whole lot of fun. I can't wait to see everything in the spring.

I sent my girl to school in tears today.  As we were waiting for the bus, she ran into the house to use the restroom. As the bus pulled up she came out of her room naked. She had decided she wanted to change. So I had to get her back into the first outfit while the bus was waiting. She was not happy!

Kindergarten

I was able to meet the kindergarten class today. Interesting--my little girl runs around the school singing-to everyone! Everyone in the front office knew who she was because she always stops to sing them a song

My son just ate a whole orange. I know that doesn't seem noteworthy but I mean the WHOLE orange-skin and all. I think he liked the skin. Hmm.

M boxed up a bunch of toys for the poor children this morning. When I went to look at what was in there, all the toys were her brothers.

Kindergarden

I was planning on having a fun morning with Mikayla. But, she doesn't want to do anything because she is afraid the bus will show up soon. We have 2 1/2 more hours. We're going to try to go outside and play where we will at least see if the bus shows up early.

AHhhh!

A bead up one kid's nose while the other one waters the kitchen with orange juice. But then the kisses and hugs come and make it all better (well, almost)

McDonalds

The kids didn't really know what McDonalds was a few months ago. We pulled in the lot today and Josh started cheering. I think they know now.

Bike

No one has told him that he isn't even two and shouldn't be riding a bike yet.

Singing/Dancing

I was so proud to see my little ham singing and dancing on stage today.  It was her first CYT camp and she had a few solos.  So adorable!

Monkey

OK, Josh-- throwing your monkey out the car window onto a busy Lake Cook Road was NOT amusing. Your lucky monkeys have multiple lives.

What happens when a toddler throws your deodorant in the toilet and then flushes? Don't ask!!

Pre-K Graduation

My little girl just "graduated" from pre-k. Nope, I didn't cry. Not me.


We had been with Goddard since the week after they opened the doors.  I think with all the changes in our lives, this was just another change that was hard to deal with.  I'm so proud of her.  Big time kindergarden is next!

J likes coffee

He always tries to steal my coffee!  I have to put it up on the fridge to keep away from him.

Proud

I am SOOo proud of my son. This weekend he learned to open doors, cpimb up on the counter, turn on water faucets, open the fridge, and open yogurt containers. Now, if could only understand the word NO
